Communal Space in Hackney Down Studios

Eat Work Art was established in 2009 with the aim of revitalising disused buildings in London, transforming them into workspaces for independent creative communities to grow.

Launching with the iconic Netil House in London Fields, an unloved 60’s building transformed into a power house of creativity, crowned with a sprawling rooftop.

With Hackney Downs StudiosOld Paradise Yard and Alma Yard coming soon, we have grown organically and now provide creative workspace and coworking for over 600 creative practitioners and businesses.

Sustainability is inherent in our regeneration work and we strive to enrich the communities we work in.

Inspired by the passions and interests of our residents and the wider community, we evolve to engage with our surrounding communities in creative projects. Hackney Downs Studios now hosts the largest vegan market in London in collaboration with Fat Gay Vegan, while Netil Market makes space for independent grassroots creative businesses, now home to a community-lead radio station, Netil Radio.

Aiming to bring like-minded individuals together who champion innovation and collaboration, everyone is welcome, from individual start-up artisan traders to more established companies.

Everything we do is centred around bringing people together to foster a community of great minds
