Site Context

The applicant site aligns with Victorian 3 storeys terrace houses with a shop front and basement. The site is surrounded by diverse public amenities such as groceries, restaurants, post offices, and pharmacies. In terms of transportation, there is a bus stop in front of the applicant site. Moreover, it is under 5-6 min walking distance toward Earls Court tube station and West Brompton Station.

Design Brief

The project objection is converting the existing gym space into a minimum of 2 residential units. Each unit would have 1-2 bedroom units and both units would have extensions. As the location of the applicant site is in the basement, the restricted daylight would be a critical issue. Moreover, the issues of overlooking and outlook toward neighbour would be considered cautiously as it is in the dense urban context.
